NATIONAL
FORUM FOR SENIOR ADMINISTRATORS

Friday, October 17, 2003
8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Agenda
The U.S. Department of Education’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program and The Network: Addressing Collegiate Alcohol and Other Drug Issues host this daylong National Forum for campus chief executives and other senior administrators. We welcome presidents, chancellors, trustees, vice presidents, deans, and major unit directors to join in this collegial meeting with peers to consider leadership strategies for promoting safe and healthy learning and living environments.
Today’s Forum addresses issues associated with alcohol, other drugs, and violence. Topics include programming and financial savings, violence and vandalism reductions, enhancement of academic performance, legal issues (risk perception and reduction, liability, and compliance with relevant Federal mandates), vantages from The Network’s Council of Advisors, and an update from the U.S. Department of Education.
The Network and the Department salute your leadership in creating and sustaining safe, healthy, and learning-conducive environments at your campuses and in the communities in which your campuses are situated. We are grateful to Robert Chapman, LaSalle University, and Joan Masters, University of Missouri, Columbia, who coordinated this year’s National Forum, and to the expert presenters who readily accepted invitations to discuss their experiences and forecasts with you.
Next year’s National Forum for Senior Administrators will take place in fall 2004 in the National Capital Area. Watch for specific date and venue announcement via the Higher Education Center’s Web site at www.higheredcenter.org/
