Thursday - Sunday, October 16 - 19, 2003.
This year's meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Austin on the shores of Town Lake, within easy walking distance of the legendary Sixth Street entertainment district, University of Texas campus (including the LBJ Museum), and the State Capitol Complex.

This is the national conference for examining issues around alcohol, other drugs, and violence (AODV) prevention on college campuses and in their surrounding communities. The National Meeting includes keynote speakers, workshops, skill-building sessions, showcases, town meetings, poster presentations, exhibits, and the National Forum for Senior Administrators. Prevention professionals, especially new practitioners (disciplines include health and wellness education, alcohol and other drug abuse prevention, student affairs, residence life, campus safety and law enforcement, peer education, and violence prevention)

Professional Recertification Credit
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Those seeking recertification credit for the Certified Health Education Specialist must complete an application form (available in October at the National Meeting Registration Desk), attend accredited sessions (identified in instructions on the application form), and submit the completed application and administrative fees (up to $45) as directed on the application form. We will be offering 16.5 contact hours towards CHES credit. Approved applicants will receive a certificate of credit within a few weeks after submitting the application form and fee.
National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). The Education Development Center, Inc. is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. We will be offering 16 contact hours towards NBCC credit. Separate application and registration surcharge (up to $45) will apply. Ask, in October, at the National Meeting Registration Desk.
