The U.S. Department of Education sponsors this National Meeting through its Safe & Drug Free Schools Program. The Department is grateful to the 1999 Planning Committee members identified below (with subcommittee assignments or other roles indicated). These are Department-appointed volunteers -- faculty, practitioners, students, civic leaders, and public officials -- who work on agenda development, plenary speaker invitations, publicity, student involvement, and to help ensure that the meeting maintains the high standards to which participants have become accustomed.
The Department also appreciates the efforts of the New York State region of the Network of Colleges and Universities Committed
to the Elimination of Drug and Alcohol Abuse for its collaboration in the 1999
National Meeting. Campuses from throughout the Empire State are providing grassroots
support and helping to organize opportunities for student participation.
