Program Information

This year’s National Meeting will feature  a variety of session formats:

  1. Workshops - In these sessions, you will hear from colleagues who are showcasing exemplary programs that have been successful on campus, in the community, or statewide. Workshops also may describe emerging theory, assessment tools, or other methodologies. Length: 60 minutes.
  2. Professional Development Sessions - These sessions are designed to impart practical, hands-on knowledge of a specific prevention technique, approach, or organizational development skill. Length: 90-120 minutes.
  3. Town Meetings - These in-depth sessions will be led by multiple presenters examining current issues and controversies, with an emphasis on interactive discussions among audience members. Length: 2 hours.
  4. Poster Sessions - These will be informal visual/graphic presentations on display boards. Presenters will be onhand during at designated times frames to interact one-on-one with conference attendees who have questions.

Making the most of the National Meeting...Not only are you encouraged to attend the National Meeting, but you are also asked to contribute and make the most of this learning opportunity - ask questions during the sessions, dialogue and interact with other audience members during Town Meetings, network, and share experiences (successful and unsuccessful strategies, methods, etc.).  You are highly encouraged to engage yourself in the program of activities and to take full advantage of all that the National Meeting has to offer.  Ten ways to get the Most out of the 1998 National Meeting
