Why Hire an Evaluator?
Campus-based prevention coordinators are under increasing pressure to evaluate their alcohol, other drug, and violence prevention programs. One goal of the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention is to advance the quality of program evaluation in higher education prevention work. Often it is useful for program planners to consult with a professional evaluator to assist in making decisions about what types of data might be collected to develop, refine, and justify their prevention programs.

What Is the Evaluator Database?
The Center seeks to facilitate good evaluation work by brokering relationships between professional evaluators and campus and community prevention coordinators. The Evaluator Database is designed to serve as a resource by providing evaluators' contact information.
If you are an evaluator, we hope you will register.
If you use the database to find an evaluator, please let us know whether it was useful and how it might be improved by sending comments to HigherEdCtr@edc.org.
Important Notes
The database is a referral service only. While use of the Higher Education Center's referral database is free, the services of the evaluators are not. Once you have identified a potential evaluator, please contact the person or organization directly to negotiate availability and fees. Presence of a name or organization on this list does not imply an endorsement of the evaluator's skills or experience by the Higher Education Center or the U.S. Department of Education. As with any employee or consultant, we suggest that you interview them carefully and check their references to ascertain whether their background and skills are an appropriate match for your needs.
If you have any general questions about evaluation, please contact the Higher Education Center at (800) 676-1730.
